The holiday season can be a time when those less fortunate than us are forgotten about. Even your correspondent, would you believe, spent many a Christmas and New Year, for that matter, completely alone.
Being alone in the holiday season is rather depressing. You can hear the festivities around you if you live in an apartment block like the one where I lived in London, but you aren’t able to share even a drop of good cheer.
So this Christmas I hope that we all take time out of our celebrating to remember those amongst us who don’t have another soul to chink a glass with or pass the salt to.
Happily I can report that there are some schemes already in place to assist those who are less fortunate than us or in this case stand out in a crowd.
It’s nice that they are remembering the big ones this Christmas! Doesn’t that warm the cockles of your heart? After all giants need as much love as others, especially at this time of year!
