The First Cuckoo

A lot of people listen out for the sound of the first Cuckoo in the Spring and one or two are idiot enough to write to The Times Newspaper bragging that they have heard one.

My peculiar hobby is to spot not only the first Christmas related merchandise in the shops, but also to take a picture of the absolute worst possible Christmas related item from a shop.

Here is this year’s entry in the competition to find the absolute worst Christmas related item to come out of a shop in August for goodness sake!

Ladies and Gentlemen I give you the Percy Pig Xmas Themed Carrier Bag from Marks and Spencers which I had the embarrassment of carrying my purchases home in at the beginning of last week. In my opinion no one should be subjected to this form of ignominy especially not a grown up, who prefers Colin the Caterpillar.
