More trains from Vietnam

But then they like trains in Vietnam

They do seem to like trains in Vietnam and have a rather odd relationship with them! This poor old broken down train appears to be empty, and yet it is obviously ‘safer’ (a word this is definitely rarely used in Vietnam) to hang onto the outside or sit on the roof!

What an odd bunch the Vietnamese are!

Lift nonsense from Ho Chi Minh City

I love a good translation don’t you, sadly the Vietnamese try their best but their best is…

Lift nonsesne again from Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam

However when I was in Ho Chi Minh City I went out purposely looking for a “romp in the elevator” but I fear I was looking in the wrong places. I have to stress though and my dear cuddly readers I am sure will back me up here I would never attempt or dream of performing a “stomping dance” in any elevator, but then again who in their right mind would?

Clever cook

Here is a list of the tasks a Squid Chef can perform straight from a new Vietnamese restaurant in Hanoi – wow, i didn’t realise that Squids were so talented and more importantly could do so much, so there is an up side to having eight limbs!

It only has 8 hands you know

Ok I noticed like you that “the Squid cooks the chili burns” but what can you expect the poor devil only has eight hands and that is a lot to keep just a pair of eyes on, there was no need in my opinion to fry “Squid balls.” That was just unfair he was doing his best!

I Like Shellfish But Not This Shellfish

I remember writing a little song in my first masterpiece of feline literature ‘Getting Out Excerpts from a Cat’s Diary’ called ‘There is nothing like a Prawn’ to the musical theme first used in movie musical ‘South Pacific’ because I love Prawns. Prawns are wonderful even when they are eaten the Brazilian way with their little jackets on and tend towards ‘crunch’ if you see what I mean!

Although Prawns are my favourite shellfish I have also enjoyed the fleeting company of Lobsters, Crab, Langoustines, Shrimp (the tiny English ones) and of course Mussels, but I refused to eat what was on this menu in Hanoi, Vietnam and I ask you can you blame me?

Even when crap meat is rolled twice in Salmon skin and friend it hardly sounds like a delicacy does it? In fact the idea of it put me right off my Roasted Salmon Head and I walked out of the establishment that bravely called itself a restaurant feeling hungry and let down.

Horse Crap – A Delicacy In Ho Chi Minh City

The really great news is that my long awaited soontobemillionselling book ‘The Cat’s Travelogue’ is going to be available very soon any and everywhere and that means you can buy a book either in paper or ebook form in the very near future.

Speaking of my long awaited soontobemillionselling book ‘The Cat’s Travelogue,’ a wonder of a little book written by a Cat, one of the places I visited was Vietnam though because of signs such as the one below and other divine bureaucratic blunders the chapter on Vietnam was ‘sponsored’ by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and then removed by me from the printed edition. Did you know that the Socialist Republic of Vietnam’s motto is “Independence – Freedom – Happiness” – if you ever did!

It’s my fervent hope that you enjoy my latest book ‘The Cat’s Travelogue’ more than the menu item below and that you tell all of your friends to buy at least one copy and make this clever Cat very happy.

One thought that went through my furry head when I was sitting outside the restaurant in the heat and pollution of Ho Chi Minh City reading the menu below was this “what was the ‘Lime'” if you see what I mean, “do the Vietnamese serve a Citrus fruit with their Fried Horse Crap or is the ‘Lime’ on the menu the white powdery stuff that they add to cement, gardens and the graves of adulterers in days gone by?” Sadly to this day I don’t know because I didn’t order this menu item – what do you think I am stupid?

Don’t forget that like ‘Getting Out Excerpts from A Cat’s Diary’ ‘The Cat’s Travelogue’ will make a wonderful Christmas present.

Shopping Advice In Vietnam

What can I say? This Cat is a nice polite Cat and frankly doesn’t really understand what the shop owner of this Hanoi store is suggesting.

Being an innocent is such a nice state of mind. Still if you want to try cock today then now you know where to go I am sure that in this store the idea of ‘personal shopper’ is concentrated on the very personal.
